#Expertwitness work implies that the individual or company employed is, in fact, an expert in that field. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologists are #advancedpracticenurses. They complete an undergrad four-year degree and are required to work a minimum of one year in critical care. Most #CRNAs average 5 years of critical care experience before starting an anesthesia program. Once graduated, these practitioners have the scope and ability to work independently anywhere.
Unfortunately, #anesthesia is a highly litigated field. #CertifiedRegisteredNurseAnesthesiologists are intimately involved in multiple facets of healthcare. Anesthesia is utilized in nearly every healthcare setting: ORs, same day surgery centers, pain centers, GI centers, vascular centers, plastic surgery centers, dental centers, obstetrics, and even in sites like MRI and CAT scan. This lends them to be involved in the care of patients across the spectrum. This does increase the risk of litigation due to the sheer number of cases they are involved in.
#CRNAExpertWitness work is required for cases involving #Crnas. A legal requirement is that an #anesthesiaexpertwitness be practicing in the same profession as the person they are responsible for reviewing. Thus, a physician anesthesiologist cannot testify for or against a #certifiedregisterednurseanesthesiologist as an #anesthesiaexpert in the field of #nurseanesthesiology.
When finding a good CRNAExpertwitness, clients should look at their experience, years of experience and fields of work that they have been active in recently. Having an #diverseCRNAexpertwitness that is up to date is incredibly important as practices change constantly according to new meds and studies. Clients should also speak with their #CRNAexpertwitness to ensure they are someone who will represent them in a way that lends no question as to their knowledge or ability. Not all expert witnesses are created equally. Contact us at anesthesiaexpertwitness.com or directly at crnaexpertwitness@gmail.com
